Coach Gonzales was named the Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Tohono O'odham Community College in 2018.  Gonzales has a total of thirteen years of coaching experience combined with NJCAA and High School experience.

Gonzles made his first season (2018-19) with the Jegos a memorable one as he registered the most wins in a single season in program history (13). The Jegos surged past the 2017-18 overall win total (1-29) by 12 wins while also exceeding the number of league wins (9-13). In addition, Samantha Nunez earned ACCAC All Conference and All Region Team honors. Nunez is the first player in the Women's Jegos History to be named to the NJCAA All Conference/All Region Teams.


Coach Gonzales came from Sisseton Wahpeton College (SD), where he served as head coach for one season.  At SWC he held an overall record of 27- 2 while leading the Mustangs to their first conference title, including an AIHEC National Championship. SWC earned three postseason individual accolades including Player of the Year honors in Samantha Nunez and two NIAC All-Conference players.

Prior to coaching at SWC, Gonzales was the Head Women's Coach at Turtle Mountain Community College (ND) for two seasons 2015-2017. In his two seasons at TMCC, the Mikinocks enjoyed two-consecutive NIAC regular-season titles and one NIAC Tournament Conference Championship. Gonzales was named NIAC Conference Coach of the Year in 2017 and had six players earn NIAC All-Conference honors during the 2015-17 campaign.


Gonzales earned an Associates of Arts Degree from El Paso Community College (2002), Bachelors of Science (Kinesiology) from the University of Texas El Paso (2005), Masters of Sports Science and Recreation from Ohio University (2013).
